This module is ideal for project managers and other professionals in the offshore wind industry who seek to enhance their understanding of technical concepts. It is designed for individuals who need to effectively communicate and collaborate with engineers and technical teams, ensuring successful project outcomes without delving deeply into technical specifics.

The module will be delivered through a combination of online theoretical lectures and self-study.

The aim of the module is to introduce you to the offshore structures utilised to support the rotor and the nacelle of offshore wind turbines, both for bottom-fixed and floating applications.

Topic 1: Wind turbine generators: Main configurations, anatomy

Topic 2: Wind turbine generators: Operating principles, state-of-the-art and future trends

Topic 3: Wind turbine generators: turbine-level and farm-level control strategies

Topic 4: Wind farm design and electrical collectors

Topic 5: Grid connection and integration

You will gain access to the course material for a full year, so that you can refer back to your notes or material after completing the course.
