Discover the essential techniques for modelling the metocean environment in our engaging short course, available for remote learning at your convenience. This module offers an introduction to the primary approaches used to:
- Understand Metocean Characteristics: Learn about the environmental factors crucial for the design and analysis of offshore wind turbines.
- Quantify and Describe Conditions: Master the skills to assess both short- and long-term metocean characteristics.
- Calculate Wave Loads: Gain expertise in determining the wave loads impacting offshore wind turbines.
This online module allows you to study at your own pace and place, providing flexibility while equipping you with vital skills for modelling the metocean environment in offshore wind turbine projects.
Tailored for individuals with a background in math, physics, or engineering—or those with equivalent industrial experience—who are looking to re-skill or up-skill for a career in the offshore wind turbine industry.
This course runs over 10 calendar weeks, as 5 sessions delivered 2 weeks apart. The course starts on 13th January 2025.
You will gain access to the course material for a full year, so that you can refer back to your notes or material after completing the course.
